Chancellor G. Raymond Chang

Canadian business leader and philanthropist

Chancellor G. Raymond Chang is recognized as an outstanding Canadian business leader and philanthropist whose contributions have advanced the financial, health, education and cultural sectors with significant and farsighted investments of personal resources and dedicated attention. He is the recipient of the BBPA Presidents Awards at the 29th Annual BBPA Harry Jerome Awards held in April.

Jamaican born, Chancellor Chang is immediate past Chair of CI Financial, one of Canada’s largest investment firms, where he remains a Director. Through his privately owned company, Chancellor Chang is active worldwide in the development of hydrogen fuel cells, medical diagnostic devices and equipment, proprietary wireless networks and shipping.

He has been a supporter of Ryerson University for many years and the School of Continuing Education was named in his honour. In 2005, he received an honorary doctorate from Ryerson and in 2006 he was bestowed the honour of Chancellor.
