Course Description
Around The Board Table is a capacity building series developed to inform and educate participants on the dynamics to leading from the forefront, especially on Boards across Canada. Develop a deeper understanding of how boards function while you gain new insights and build concrete skills to enhance your impact on board decisions. These sessions are designed to equip community members with the skill-sets for effective communication, industry trends analysis and social impact. It targets individuals seeking to expand their sphere of influence and occupy major Board rooms across Canada.
Course Curriculum;
Week 1- Understand the role of your board.
Week 2- Know how to optimize management and board decision making.
Week 3- How to handle financial discussions around the board table.
Week 4 – Understand how to combat racism in the board room
Week 5 – How to identify risks for the board and mitigate against them
Week 6 – Case studies and live simulated board room meetings; featuring presidents of boards and EDs of companies around Canada
Week 7 – Dynamics of executive compensation
Week 8 – Have tools and insights to integrate what you’ve learned and apply it right away
Course Schedule
- This program is ongoing
- Class is held Tuesdays at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST.
- All classes are held on Zoom, a web-conferencing platform. A built-in camera and microphone are required
Class Size
30 students; minimum enrollment is 10 students.
Price
This course is free for all BBPA Members. The course costs $45 for non-Members.
Audience
Geared towards all professionals seeing to strengthen their capacity to lead on boards.
