Marilyn Morris
Dr Morris is a Development Planning and Policy Consultant/Advisor and Trainer; Legislative Review and Drafting Consultant; a Business Development Advisor; Educator and Training Provider. She holds a PhD (Planning and Development); M.Sc (Econ) from the University of London, UK; LLB (Hons.) from the University of Wolverhampton, UK; BA (Hons) and a post –graduate Diploma. Education from the University of the West Indies and a Certificate in (Legislative Drafting) from Boston University. She also holds a Certified Professional Coach Certificate (CPC) for Life and Business Coaching, is a Certified Teacher and a Practicing Mentor and Coach.
Twenty five years of practice experience in her areas of technical training and technical competencies, throughout the Caribbean and Guyana. Experienced in strategic planning, policy development and institutional strengthening for private, public and not for profit organizations; project development, management and evaluation; and training at the secondary and tertiary levels of the education sector, which includes the development and management of her own training centre.
An international development consultant with experience working with international development agencies in sectoral project development, such as the World Bank, United Nations Development Program, Organization of American States and The European Union Program, Special Framework of Assistance for Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Countries
Co-founder and Program Manager of the Canadian Research Centre for Humanities and Science; Founder and Director of Programs of the Canadian raining Alliance Group and Co-Founder and Director of Programs of the Inspiring Life Solutions, a life and Business Coaching enterprise.
Volunteer strategic advisor to the President and Board of the Black Business and Professional Association of Toronto, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Caribbean Council for Economic Development, a not for profit American registered Diaspora organization which promotes the advancement of black business and professionals of the Caribbean Diaspora community in Canada, USA and the UK , to assist in the development of their countries of origin; a member of the Ontario Association for Black School Educators (ONABSE) and the Interim Chair of its Higher Education Committee. She was selected as mentor to female students of the Emerging Leaders of the World , Leadership Certificate Program of St Xavier Francis University in Nova Scotia. Worked as Volunteer Director of Programs & Strategic Planning and mentor at E–CAMP Mentoring Agency (Toronto, Canada)
