BBPA’s Programs and Events Update

Due to recent developments in the spread of the COVID-19, the world’s leading health organizations, including the WHO and CDC, have advised against large, public gatherings and other events that may contribute to the spread of the virus.

The BBPA has kept the safety and wellbeing of the community at the heart of all its decisions and as a result will take the following action:

BBPA Harry Jerome Awards

The 38th Annual BBPA Harry Jerome Awards is postponed to a later date of October 10, 2020. Please continue visiting harryjeromeawards.com for further updates.

A Dialogue with Black Women

This International Women’s Month Event will be postponed until a later date.

Effective immediately, we will be suspending all face-to-face programs and moving programming to online formats where possible in order to effectively further the organization’s goals without endangering stakeholders or adding to the growing spread of COVID-19. We are committed to the work we do in advancing the Black community and will use our resources to support our members during this time.

Although we understand that this announcement will be disappointing for some, we look forward to celebrating together with you all at a later.

Please stay tuned for additional information over the coming days. As always, you can email your questions to president@bbpa.org.

In the meantime, please do what you can to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by practicing good hygiene, and staying home if you are sick.

We thank you for your continued support and commitment to our community and appreciate your patience during this time.
